The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Opportunity Rockingham is located in Perth's outer southern suburbs, about 40 kilometres south-west of the Perth CBD. Rockingham is a rapidly developing residential area, with substantial industrial and commercial areas and includes Garden and Penguin Islands. It encompasses significant areas of coastline, Shoalwater Islands, Rockingham Lakes, HMAS Stirling and extensive parklands.

As a Parent Visitor, you will play a vital role in participating in a range of home and community activities with Parents and Carers to achieve the goals of Parenting and Care Plans and providing In-home Visiting Services for Parents and Carer.  By joining the Rockingham District, you will have the chance to work in diverse communities, gaining exposure to different cultures, challenges, and perspectives.

There is currently one (1) fixed term position available for immediate filling for a period of 12 months and one (1) fixed term position available from 5 October 2024 for a period of 4 months.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months across the Department of Communities. 

Prospective applicants must be able to pass a satisfactory medical and functional capacity examination based on the physical and psychological demands of the role.
