GMCT manages 19 locations Memorial Parks and cemeteries across the Greater Melbourne region, servicing a wide range of customers and the unique needs of our diverse communities.
About the role
As a member of the Parks and Gardens team, the Apprentice will be required to undertake maintenance in horticulture such as, but not limited to:
- Mowing
- Weeding
- Planting
- Litter removal
- Weed Spraying
- Mulching
- Pruning
- Watering
- Irrigation repairs
- Co-operate and collaborate with other members of the Parks and Gardens team as required
- Undertake the required schooling/TAFE to a satisfactory level to complete the three year apprenticeship
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies in the workplace
About you
- Drivers licence required, or close to obtaining
- Physically fit and self-motivated
- Eager to work outdoors
- Strong team mentality
- Positive attitude towards working full-time and gaining a nationally recognised qualification
- A desire for excellence
- Consistently reliable and punctual at all times
- Commitment to TAFE studies
- Successful candidates for this role must undergo a police check, Working with Childrens Check and pre-employment medical check, the costs of which will be covered by NextGen Jobs.
