PARKS AND TREE MAINTENANCE WORKERS - CENTRAL AND NORTH

TALENT POOL EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Do you have a passion for nature and a love of the outdoors? Would you love to use your horticulture/arboriculture skills while tending to our beautiful open spaces on the Gold Coast?

The City of Gold Coast Council is seeking expressions of interest for qualified and experienced Horticulturists & ground-based Arborists to work as part of a team undertaking landscape maintenance and improvements in our parks, open space areas and road reserves. Duties include but aren’t limited to planting, pruning, mulching, hedging, removal of green waste, weed removal/spraying, utilising leaf blowers and operating chainsaws and pole saws.

Requirements of the role:

  • Certificate II in Horticulture or related discipline (e.g. Green Keeping or Arboriculture) or
  • Demonstrated previous practical experience in horticulture or arboricultural related activities, and
  • C Class (or higher) drivers licence, and
  • General Construction Induction (white/blue) card (or ability to obtain before starting, if successful)
The successful applicants will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between Level 2 and Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – Operational.

Essential: Please outline your experience in Horticulture/Arboriculture maintenance and provide details of your experience with powered hand tools and equipment relevant to the role.
