About the RoleOur Parks Workers play a key role in maintaining and preserving the Sunshine Coasts’ beautiful parks and reserves by undertaking horticultural and landscape improvements, maintenance and management and utilising various plant equipment as part of day-to-day activities. About youAs the face of Council, you will provide excellent customer service and ensure work is carried out in a timely manner, while working as part of a pro-active, high performing team.
While possessing well developed team and leadership qualities, you also have an eye for detail and can work autonomously. Your horticultural/turf management knowledge should demonstrate a strong understanding of soil science, plant identification, and pest & disease management. To be successful in the role, you’ll need the following:An interest in the landscaping/horicultural industry and relevant machinery.
Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)Current “C” Class Drivers Licence (manual)Desirable:Current “MR” Class Drivers Licence. Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
