An exciting opportunity exists for an Accountant to join us in our Australian office based in Silverwater. We’re a company who grows and distributes our own produce including blueberries and cherries to name just a couple. We’re looking for a Part Time Accountant to take on some accounting and administration duties while our incumbent is on Parental Leave.
The position
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager your duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Maintenance of accounting books including posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and monthly reporting
- Managing accounts receivable, processing receipts and reconciling bank statements
- Managing accounts payable (including supplier payments)
- Assistance with tax compliance and reporting (including BAS and liaising with tax accountants)
- Collating timesheet information and processing payroll and superannuation payments
- Assistance with general office administration duties as required
The successful candidate
- Ideally at least two years’ experience in a similar position/finance related role
- BBus (Accounting) or similar qualification
- Understanding of associated accounting and payroll legislation
- Approachable personality with excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical in nature
- Knowledge of products being handled
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- Proactive attitude & self-motivated. You will be working in a small team where the focus is on sales, so you must enjoy working on your own in the office
This position may well suit you if you have to work between the school runs and we're also open to flexible working arrangements if you need to work from home some days or during the school holidays, provided it aligns with team objectives and operational requirements.
