Part time ECT and Full time Diploma trained Educator

Stanwell Park Preschool is a 25-place centre with a strong focus on the environment, learning from the land and within our local community. We cater to a unique community and have developed a setting to match. Building strong relationship with families and also with our community is of the utmost importance at our service. We have a bush kinder program and have regular excursions to our local nursing home, with the idea to expand to other areas of the community for excursions also.

We are looking for: 

• A Part time Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to specifically work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 

• A Diploma Trained educator to work Full time Monday to Friday. 

About the roles:

The successful applicants will be confident with children and families and have a focus on building close relationships. This is an important aspect of our service and we value and build on our relationships on a daily basis. They must be confident in talking to families and sharing information about children's ongoing needs with colleagues.

The applicant will be a team player and work harmoniously with their peers in a supportive environment. They must be willing to use varying communication styles to ensure the best possible environment for all stakeholders and demonstrate respect for the team in which they work.

A strong love for being outdoors and connecting with nature is necessary, along with leading the way in sustainability and also enjoy taking children out on excursions and being in nature, in any weather.

The applicant needs to be able to display proactivity in their role and show initiative toward all they do. They must be open to programming and planning for a set group of focus children and have a sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework. 

Other responsibilities: Being open minded and interested in growing professionally, working with community members and external agencies and complying with, and supporting other educators to comply with, service policies and legislation.

Further roles of an ECT:

• designing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs and practices, including following and implementing an approved learning framework.
• leading and supporting the wellbeing, learning and development of children
• providing pedagogical leadership.
• coaching, mentoring and supervising staff.

Skills and experience

• ECT- Must hold an approved University Early Childhood Teaching qualification or be working toward and be registered with NESA
• DIPLOMA- Must hold an approved Diploma level Qualification.
• Must have a valid working with children's check number.
• Must hold appropriate in date first aid, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma qualifications.
• Must be willing to further your own professional development by attending training outside of hours.
• Must be willing to attend paid staff meetings once monthly out of usual working hours.
