Job description

About The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation

We make an impact by funding life-changing medical research to help people live healthier for longer. Through the power of the collective, we support and facilitate the work of incredible researchers who are dedicated to making breakthroughs in the areas of heart disease, lung disease, mental health and ageing.

Researchers rely on time to make medical discoveries that go on to save lives. Our goal is to provide them with as much time as possible in the hopes of changing lives for the better.

We are also proud to support hospital innovation and patient care initiatives at both The Prince Charles Hospital (Australia’s leading cardio-thoracic hospital and Queensland’s second busiest children’s emergency department,) as well as Caboolture Hospital, which is in an area experiencing significant growth.

Your impact

At The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, your role isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to contribute to impactful research that transforms lives on a significant scale.

Every day, your efforts can make a difference in the lives of those affected by health conditions, both now and for generations to come. It’s an opportunity to leave a legacy you can be proud of.

As a people-focused organisation, whether it’s our supporters, community members, researchers, volunteers, or each other, people are at the heart of everything we do.

The role

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is part of the Philanthropy and Fundraising team and reports to the GM Philanthropy and Fundraising.

We’re embarking on an exciting period of growth. As the Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager, you will help to achieve sustainable growth through acquiring and stewarding corporate partners and major gift donors. This will involve a constant process of identifying and qualifying leads, cultivating prospects, soliciting donations, and stewarding supporters.

Your days will be interesting and varied - you will be having lots of conversations with prospects, supporters, and stakeholders; managing opportunities to generate value and, with internal support, coordinating activities and events to engage and recognise supporters.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage relationships to provide measurable and sustainable value.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit gifts from high-net-worth individuals and corporate prospects.
  • Take a data-driven approach to decision making (e.g., donor research, data integrity, program evaluation, impact reporting, internal reporting, recording information in Raiser’s Edge database).
  • Work with stakeholders to produce fundraising plans, cases for support, agreements, reports, communications; and to coordinate activities and events for prospects and supporters.
  • Be prepared to roll up your sleeves to get things done and a willingness to help the team and broader organisation as needed.
  • Some travel and night and weekend work may be required to accommodate prospective donor schedules and to attend campaigns and networking events.
Key requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Proven success in relationship-based fundraising, development, sponsorship, or sales.
  • Able to manage meaningful relationships to achieve financial outcomes.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, and a desire to be out meeting supporters.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Able to maintain supporter confidentiality and privacy.
  • QLD driver’s license.
  • Experience in using a database, ideally Raiser’s Edge or a similar platform highly advantageous.
  • An understanding of the Not-For-Profit sector highly advantageous.
What can we offer you?

Culture is important to us.  We want people who come to work (and leave to go home!) with a smile on their face.

We offer an incredibly supportive team, a relaxed working environment, staff development and training opportunities, a competitive salary with the added bonus of salary packaging to significantly increase your take home pay, free parking and discounted coffee!
