About our Team


As the Passenger Services Supervisor (relief) you will manage the service environment onboard our long-distance trains to ensure a high standard of service. As this role is based in Bundaberg, you will primarily work on board our Bundaberg Tilt Train (Bundaberg to Rockhampton) or our Bundaberg Tilt Train (Bundaberg to Brisbane) services where you can expect to be away for up to 4 days at any given time. 


You will join a team that consists of three experienced Passenger Services Supervisors however when on board the train you will be the Supervisor in charge and will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of up to five consisting of Passenger Attendants, Passenger Service Coordinators and Customer Service Attendants.

However, after including applicable allowances (travel, away from home, meals, first aid, weekend and public holiday work), a Passenger Services Supervisor can earn up to approximately $130, 000 + 12.75% super

About the role


  • Manage the team on board which includes ensuring that a high level of customer service is maintained and duties are completed within set timeframes 
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that travelling customers are in possession of a valid ticket
  • Supervise the acceptance, loading and delivery of customer baggage 
  • Coordinate the handover of the train to the incoming Supervisor at changeover locations and liaise with personnel to arrange delivery of catering supplies as required
  • Manage disruptions to train services 


Roster / Hours: 


This is a permanent full-time position. 


You will be required to work a variety of days and nights which will include weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts on a rotating roster. You can expect to receive your roster one week in advance so flexibility with hours is key in this role. 


Our ideal candidates will demonstrate the following competencies:


  • Leadership: experience in leading and mentoring a small team with the ability to make decisions in a semi-autonomous and fast-paced environment.

You will also have the ability to deal with customer or team member conflict in an objective and professional manner 

  • Customer Service: exceptional customer focused attitude coupled with strong communication skills to ensure a positive experience with the ability to promote Queensland Rail Services products to existing and future customers
  • Currently hold or be willing to obtain the following certificates:
  • Advanced resuscitation
  • Provide basic emergency life support
  • CPR
  • First aid
  • Low voltage rescue
  • Food hygiene and 
  • Responsible service of alcohol (RSA) 

You will also be someone who is safety orientated, can ensure that relevant policies, procedures and legislation is being adhered to and who thrives in high pressure situations.
