About the role:
In the role of Pastoral Carer, you will be based in the Anglicare at Home space visiting clients in their own homes and working as part of the Community Aged Care Chaplaincy & Pastoral Care Team.
We have a rewarding position for a permanent part-time role 3 days per week.

As a Pastoral Carer at Anglicare, you will work alongside the Care Workers and Care Advisors.
Pastoral Carers also contribute to supporting ongoing spiritual needs and well-being; by visiting residents, being a good listener and providing a variety of pastoral care initiatives.
Introductory Pastoral Care training will be provided, together with on-going support, mentoring and other relevant training.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all clients are respected and treated with empathy and dignity.
  • Develops collaborative and supportive working relationships with the Community Aged Care Pastoral Care Team and the Retirement Living Chaplaincy & Pastoral Care Team.
  • Ensures a holistic approach is taken to meet clients' needs, through one-on-one encounters that provide spiritual care to the residents in their homes.
  • Being open to meet people where they are at in their spiritual journey.
  • Is an active listener who builds trust and demonstrates a high level of compassion.
  • Contributes to the provision of support for family and friends in moments of need, by providing pastoral care as required.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Embody Anglicare's vision of reaching out, enriching lives and sharing the love of Jesus
  • A passion for aged care and previous experience in Aged Care desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility
  • A current Working with Children's Check Clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Relevant training/qualifications highly regarded
  • Previous experience in ministry or pastoral care preferred
  • Must have own registered vehicle and current driver's licence.
Please note: A verbal reference from a Church Minister or Pastor is required.
