Payroll Project Manager

Job Description:
As a Payroll Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end implementation of payroll systems, working closely with finance and HR teams. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful integration and deployment of payroll solutions. This role requires a hands-on approach, and the ideal candidate will have experience as a mid-level Project Manager with a strong background in system implementation. Additionally, familiarity with major payroll systems such as ADP Payroll, Ceridian, Concur, HR Software, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Kronos, and Paychex is essential, whether as a super user, implementation subject matter expert (SME), or Project Manager. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to navigate complex project requirements, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results within established timelines. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for driving operational excellence, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of payroll system implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop project plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and consultants, to ensure seamless integration of payroll systems.
  • Manage project resources, including budget, timeline, and scope, to deliver projects within established constraints.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues and minimize project disruptions.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including status reports, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive decision-making and resolve project-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project outcomes, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll systems, providing guidance and support to end users and project team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in payroll systems implementation.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation support.
  • Strong understanding of finance and HR processes, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one major payroll system such as ADP Payroll, Ceridian, Concur, HR Software, HRIS, Kronos, or Paychex as a super user, implementation SME, or Project Manager.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.

About You

  • Proven experience in end-to-end implementation of payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
