St Patrick’s College, Strathfield is a Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition offering a quality education to over 1,550 boys from Years 5 to 12. Permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024.

We have a tremendous opportunity for an experienced and dedicate PDHPE Teacher who is qualified and willing to teach from Year 5 to Year 12 to provide students with opportunities to enhance their own and others’ health, safety, wellbeing through participation in physical activity.

You will be committed to the achievement of excellence as a classroom teacher, demonstrating thorough content knowledge, effective pedagogy and classroom management, and strong collaboration skills. In this role, you will be key to fostering students self-management, interpersonal and movement skills to become empowered, self-confident and socially responsible citizens.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following selection criteria:

Essential Criteria

  • A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition.
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
  • Qualified to teach PDHPE (Stage 3 to Stage 6).
  • Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
  • Demonstrated success in differentiation of curriculum.

Desirable criteria

  • Postgraduate qualifications (in religious education or theology).
