What success looks like in this role:

We are looking to hire driven Lead Business Architects to join our growing team of Pega experts. Work will include elaborating requirements with business, working with architects to design and deliver Pega based Business Architected solutions addressing the client's needs. Working on-site at a customer location, this role will work as part of a project team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches customer requirements.

The purpose of the Lead Business Architect role is to provide leadership and business analysis capability for the delivery of Pega projects for our client(s) within the NZ team. You will be directly engaged on client projects and be involved in leading the elicitation and definition of requirements, designing efficient business processes, assisting with application design and engaging and communicating with stakeholders in major technology projects.

This position is ideally based in Wellington (NZ), however it is expected that the candidate filling this role can & will work on various projects across the APAC region if required. We are therefore open to candidates in Australia. This role will be pivitol in the successful delivery of projects and programmes of work to clients across NZ through the application of best practice business analysis techniques.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Meet with key business stakeholders to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals to satisfy business needs.

  • Lead design sessions in prototyping and developing new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.

  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the needed artifacts (i.e., functional requirements, business requirements document, use cases, GUI and screen and Interface designs).

  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.

  • Develop and implement best practice standards for the NZ BA team.

  • Undertake QA on BA artifacts across the NZ practice/projects

  • Provide guidance/mentoring to other members of the team, both onshore and offshore

  • Assist in the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

  • Deliver informative, well-organized presentations.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Skills & Knowledge -

  • Lead client engagements to drive business transformation through a consultative approach.

  • Manage project design and delivery efforts including developing the project logic, project design, detailed work streams, team structure and deliverables.

  • Should be able to own the delivery end-end.

  • Develop strong key client relationships, managing client expectations and presenting final recommendations persuasively to senior teams·

  • Should be able to manage a team of business and system architects.

  • Strong ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders

  • Facilitate and lead working sessions with clients, subject matter experts, stakeholders, consulting teams and technical teams

  • Manage analysis teams to elicit detailed business designs and partner with domain & technical teams to develop solution strategies as required.

  • Should be able to capture business objectives and comfortable using Pega Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) capabilities.

  • Help our clients assess their current technology maturity, identify gaps to be able to develop roadmap based on client/project vision

  • Should understand the Business Processes and Business objectives of the customers to drive the right Pega solutioning.

  • Should be well versed with Pega technology and features of the platform.

  • Should be able to manage backlog prioritization along with Product owner.

  • Should be able to enable and educate client on industry standard Pega best practices.

  • Should Partner with multiple stakeholders to develop high quality deliverables across all phases of a project (from identifying and defining process flows and use cases to user acceptance testing)

  • Should Leverage industry experience to consult and influence the client's direction.

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • A can-do attitude and can quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.

  • Highly self motivated and directed.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle

  • Experience in Agile software development including concepts such as Sprints, User Stories, and Product Backlog.

  • Demonstrable project management skills.

Essential Skills -

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in analysis, requirements gathering, design and development of enterprise application systems.

  • Experience in multiple Pega strategic applications.

  • Experience in leading end to end Pega implementation experience.

  • Agile Delivery across organizations.

  • Strong Stakeholder management.

  • Taking ownership and willingness to go the extra mile.

  • Aptitude to learn quickly and a superb attention to detail and process orientation.

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a focus on achieving outcomes.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate, partner, and collaborate.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Team-oriented drive and willing to work with teams across geographies.

  • Experience in Process Optimization and Process modelling.

Desired -

  • Experience in managing multiple client accounts, conversations and solutions.

  • Experience in sales activities would be an added advantage.

  • Should have worked in pre-sales roles fulltime or part time supporting CoE.

  • Additional Pega certifications such as Decisioning, Marketing etc.

Qualifications -

  • Certified Pega Business Architect (Preferably version 7.4 or later)
