About The Role:

The primary purpose of the People and Culture Specialist is to offer human resource support to the HanRoy business by engaging in effective business partnering with HanRoy leaders. This role will guide employees and leaders in effectively implementing people policies, processes, practices, and systems. The People and Culture Specialist will have a strong focus on ensuring the successful management of People and Culture to accomplish enhanced productivity and achievement of business objectives across HanRoy.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Guide and coach leaders on the application of people policies, procedures, and processes to enable effective management of their workforce.

  • Lead initiatives to support the creation and implementation of a change culture.

  • Provide support for company surveys, studies on employee engagement, culture and other specific initiatives.

  • Provide Employee Relations guidance by liaising with employees, leaders and external stakeholders on matters including, but not limited to:

  • Participating and leading the resolution of disputes; and

  • Liaising with third parties on grievances and enquiries

  • Manage challenging personnel issues by providing guidance and coaching, including addressing team and individual performance issues.

  • Provide technical and transactional support to leaders in actioning people movements and changes, including promotions and restructures.

  • Develop and support implementation of leadership development programs to ensure all leaders, and developing leaders, have the necessary skills to succeed.

  • Stay informed of and advise the business of any IR legislation changes and the impact on the business.

  • Contribute to industrial relations prequalification tender assessments.

  • Support the development of policies and strategies for workforce planning, staff attraction and retention and reward and recognition.

  • Support the company's business priorities and People and Culture goals, through the monitoring and reporting on the progress of people initiatives.

  • Review and initiate changes or recommendations to people policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Support leaders with the remuneration and incentive review processes.

  • Support Finance with incentive and bonus processes.

  • Actively participate and support the implementation of an HRIS.

  • Work with leaders to forecast changes in manning and budgets.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 8-10 +years' experience in a senior human resources role advising senior leaders and managers on a wide range of HR and ER issues and workplace strategies.
  • 5+ years' experience in mining and resource sector or construction environment
  • Bachelor of Business or equivalent in human resources, organisational development of similar people related degree or masters.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills that are used to empower and motivate people at all different levels within the business.
  • High influencing skills. Effective listening skills and strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to facilitate continuous improvement within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Recent exposure to IR issues along with Modern Awards and Fair Work Act 2009.
  • Supporting performance and development from an organisational wide perspective.
