The Opportunity
Cochlear has an exciting opportunity for a People &Culture Service and Experience Advisor based in our Macquarie Park Sydney Office. In this role, the successful People &Culture Service and Experience Advisor will be utilizing Workday to handle payroll related tasks and essential administrative support for APAC, and provide high quality, efficient and consistent S&E service to employees.
Responsibilities include:

  • Manual input & payroll integration file uploads for APAC region (Singapore, Thailand, Korea, India, Japan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Philippines and Indonesia) including pay run processing and all accompanying tax calculations in partnership with payroll vendors/inhouse payroll processes.
  • Work closely with the payroll provider, vendors, and finance to validate and ensure correct payment of the monthly pay, including Benefit payments, one-time payments, and any deductions.
  • Ensure that all the payroll data in the system is entered correctly and validated (either via self-service of the employees) or by own data entries.
  • Respond to Workday Help cases in line with agreed standards and service levels whilst continuing to build self-service capability in our employees and people managers.
  • Triage enquiries based on nature and complexity with the support of the team and established guidelines.
  • Interpret policies, processes and guidelines to provide timely advice and guidance to employees and managers on all matters relating to employee lifecycle processes, programs and policies.
  • Ensure enquiries are actioned, resolved, and tracked in accordance with documented processes, and escalated enquiries outside of documented policies, procedures and guidelines to Business Partners or subject matter experts.
  • Ensure reports sent to the external payroll provider are accurate and cover all the changes with effect to the monthly pays are covered.
  • Champion, lead or support ongoing transformation of S&E practices to develop opportunities for processes, systems and service to employees and people managers.
  • Proactively build relationships and engagement within business areas, building confidence and awareness as the first point of contact into P&C.
  • Support deployment of People and Culture initiatives, cyclical process and programs close collaboration with Centers of Expertise and People & Culture peers
  • Escalate enquiries outside of documented policies, procedures and guidelines to Business Partners or subject matter experts.

The People &Culture Service and Experience Advisor has the opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of the P&C process, particularly within payroll, and play a vital role in developing payroll competencies and stabilization processes. They will also have the ability to work on a global landscape as they work across diverse teams across the APAC region and assist in the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives.

Essential
Key Incumbent requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in working in an HR admin and payroll position ideally, coordinating with external payroll providers
  • Proficiency in navigating and maintaining data in systems such as an HCM, CRM or case management system (Workday experience would be highly regarded).
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service – timely, accurate and professional and interpret policies, processes, and work instruction documentation.
  • Display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail when working with data.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously but use good judgment to escalate matters and work with other stakeholders to resolve queries where appropriate.
