About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an excellent opportunity for a People Lead, Capability & Learning to join our business. The location of this role is flexible.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Reporting to the Head of Talent, Capability & Change, you will be responsible for leading the Capability and Learning team to deliver learning strategies aligned to our organisational and people priorities. The role will provide specialist expertise to the Executive Leadership Team, People Organisation Leadership Team and multiple key stakeholders across the organisation to influence and drive people outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a learning and growth culture that drives employee engagement and builds business capability and sustainability through enablement of continuous professional development
  • Providing leadership and governance of an enterprise wide strategic learning framework that drives quality learning standards and outcomes
  • Co-designing the enterprise capability framework and associated career and development pathways in partnership with local and global Functions
  • Implementing the leadership capability framework and holistic strategy to strengthen leadership capability
  • Building a capability and innovation culture through digital enablement
  • In partnership with key stakeholders, build local Indigenous community capability and connection to culture within the Osborne SA precinct
  • Supporting and developing the Capability and Learning Team through strong alignment to broader strategic priorities, team cohesion, collaboration and enabled performance.

About YOU

  • Broad experience in HR capability and learning in a variety of senior roles
  • Previous experience working in the heavy manufacturing, construction or related industries would be desirable
  • Senior leadership experience and experience leading teams
  • Ability to contribute to the design of enterprise wide people strategy and frameworks
  • Personable with excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development or related field would be desirable
