Informatech is seeking a Performance Test Manager 

Testing Services 

The following high-level types of testing and activities will be required:

• Performance, Stress and Volume Test planning and execution 
• Stress and Volume Test execution
• Soak Test execution
• Develop and present Test Summary Reports
• Support Performance Tuning activities
• Support development of in-house testing capability
• Support remediation activities requiring test
• Performance validation of new systems and/or major changes to systems; and
• Contribute to system design to proactively optimise system performance.

Role Responsibilities

• Write custom scripts:
  - Ability to develop custom scripts tailored to integrate with various systems.
  - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby.
  - Experience with scripting tools and frameworks like JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner.
• Perform load testing: 
  - Conduct load testing using specialized load testing tools capable of simulating more than 15,000 concurrent users.
  - Design and execute load tests to stress test systems under various scenarios, including peak usage periods.
  - Monitor system performance metrics during load tests to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
• Generate test data: 
  - Develop test data sets suitable for the targeted systems, ensuring the data meets specific volume and uniqueness requirements.
  - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop realistic test scenarios.
  - Automate the generation of test data to streamline the testing process and ensure consistency.
• Test systems outside business hours: 
  - Schedule and execute Performance Tests during off-peak hours to minimize disruption to business users.
  - Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure access to systems and resources outside normal business hours.
  - Plan and manage testing activities to optimize system performance without impacting production environments.
•  Perform integration testing: 
  - Conduct integration testing to validate the interaction between different components or systems within the environment.
  - Design test scenarios to verify data flow, functionality, and performance across integrated systems.
  - Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues identified during testing. 
• Provide light load for exercises: 
  - Deliver light load testing scenarios for event-specific exercises, such as business process recovery or virtual tally room testing.
  - Develop test plans to simulate moderate system usage during exercises while ensuring system stability.
  - Coordinate with stakeholders to define exercise objectives and ensure testing aligns with organizational goals.
• Provide knowledge transfer: 
  - Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials to transfer testing processes and methodologies to relevant stakeholders.
  - Conduct training sessions or workshops to educate team members on Performance Testing best practices.
  - Share insights and lessons learned from testing activities to improve overall testing proficiency within the organization.
  • Provide guidance on benchmarks: 
  - Define performance benchmarks and targets based on business requirements and industry standards.
  - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system performance against predetermined benchmarks.
  - Analyze test results to determine whether systems meet established performance criteria and provide recommendations for improvement. 
• Attend meetings with project management teams, stakeholders, technical resources: 
  - Participate in regular meetings with project management teams to provide updates on testing progress, findings, and recommendations.
  - Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and address concerns related to Performance Testing activities.
  - Collaborate with technical resources to resolve issues, optimize system performance, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Track, audit, log, and report: 
  - Implement tracking and logging mechanisms to record test inputs, outputs, and system performance metrics.
  - Audit testing processes and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  - Generate detailed test reports summarizing test objectives, methodologies, results, and recommendations for stakeholders' review.
• Abide by cyber security processes: 
  - Adhere to established cyber security protocols and guidelines to safeguard sensitive information and infrastructure during testing activities.
  - Implement security measures to protect test environments from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
  - Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks identified during Performance Testing.
• Perform production verification testing: 
  - Conduct production verification testing to validate system performance in a live environment prior to critical events or launches.
  - Execute predefined test scenarios to ensure system stability, reliability, and scalability under real-world conditions.
  - Coordinate closely with operations teams to schedule and execute production verification tests without impacting ongoing operations.

To be Successful: 
 

• 5+ Years in a Leadership role and 8+ years within Performance testing field
• Has experience and can provide scripts which will need to connect to thick client systems using either Application Programming Interface (API) or User Interface (UI) based protocols, depending on the nature of the system being tested. 
• Has a wide range of testing capabilities connecting to web-based applications, where scripts will have to handle either HTTP (Protocol-based), or Browser based scripting.
• Has the ability to conduct load and capacity tests of both standalone systems and integrated systems where there is workflow linking multiple systems.
• Perform shakeout tests to establish the veracity and connectivity of the test prior to the main test run.
• Tests will be ramped up over time so not to overload server infrastructure and response time.
• Has the ability to receive, track, log and analyse an external email inbox capable of handling up to 600,000 emails in a 24 hour period. This will include being able to report on the type of email received based on email content, time received, and generate overall statistics grouping the results of the emails received.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse test results and produce test report after each system has been tested.
