Form of workWe are a public company operating a non-profit, public benevolent organisation that owns and operates a large, well established Aged Care Facility serving the Russian and Slavic communities in Sydney. Our facility is located in Cabramatta and consists of 182 residential beds and 21 Independent Living Units. We have also just commenced our Home Care Services.
We cater to the special needs of a range of high care Consumers including persons living with Dementia.
We are looking for Assistant in Nursing staff to support the nursing care to our Consumers. Casual opportunities available with a view to Permanent Part Time.
The key duties of this position:
Assist Registered Nurses to interview, assess and plan nursing care for Consumers according to accepted nursing practices and standards.
Provide direct care to Residents such as washing, dressing, feeding and housekeeping.
Monitor and supervise Residents during domestic activities such as dining and showering and during therapy and treatment.
Organise and supervise Residents in social, educational and recreational activities.
Promote health and well-being of Residents, assist in social and living skills, and respond to the needs of Residents with empathy and understanding.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Aged Care. Fluency in the Russian and related Slavic languages preferred, but not essential. (minimum of 12 months experience providing care in Aged Care setting).
Must be permanent resident/citizen and able to work within a rotating roster 7 days per week with no work limitations. (Students need not apply)
