Shared On Site Supports Model
New exciting opportunity coming to Spinal Life Australia, Shared On-site Supports in a purpose-built accommodation for people with disabilities! In this model, Spinal Life Australia will support clients living in the accommodation in a 24/7 on call capacity to assist residents as needed. This is a 24/7 arrangement including active over nights offering a variety of shifts and times.
Permanent Part Time & Casual Positions available!
Casual rates starting from $32.08 per hour incl loading *Rate will be dependent on experience*
Being a Personal Support Worker with Spinal Life Australia:
As a Personal Support Worker, you will be assisting our clients with tasks of daily living; making a positive difference through purposeful connection, helping them to live independently in their own homes. We have multiple roles available and are striving to employ individuals who are passionate about supporting others’ individual needs.
We have flexible hours to suit you and your family, whether you’re an early bird (6am shifts) or a night owl (until 10pm), or within the onsite shared support overnight shifts (from 10pm), we have a variety of shifts available including weekends.
Key Duties:
- Assisting clients with transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists when required.
- Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene.
- Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
- Basic wound care and self-medication.
- Domestic support such as meal preparation, light household duties and laundry.
- Community access such as driving to appointments and social activities.
- You have a positive attitude and empathetic nature.
- You are an excellent listener who can communicate authentically and honestly, and are able to work independently.
- You are adaptable to the different needs, environments, experiences, and cultural backgrounds of our clients.
- You treat others with dignity, respect and are without judgement.
- You are physically fit - capable of constant lifting, bending, and carrying.
- 12 months experience in a community based care environment
- A current Australian driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
- A smartphone device
- A current NDIS Workers Screening Card and a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be willing to apply for one
- Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module
- Flexibility to work a fixed fortnightly roster with varying shift times including active over nights
