About the position
You will be an experienced Phlebotomist looking for a fulfilling change in a position with an attractive allowance.
The role of a Home Visit Phlebotomist involves traveling to patients' homes to collect blood samples and other specimens for diagnostic testing. The Phlebotomist must demonstrate proficiency in specimen collection techniques, ensure proper handling and labelling of samples, and accurately document patient information. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining their equipment and vehicle, adhering to safety protocols, and communicating effectively with patients to provide a comfortable and professional experience.
Rosters are scheduled Monday to Friday between 07:00 – 12:00 or 07:00 – 15:00 with additional hours available to cover leave.
About you (criteria)
- Possession of a Cert III or IV in Pathology Collection or relevant industry experience is required.
- Prior experience in hospital or home visit collections is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the collections team, referring doctors, nurses, and patients.
- Strong time management skills are essential.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a small team with a high level of accuracy and precision.
- Proficient in understanding and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety policies and guidelines to uphold a safe and healthy workplace.
- Must have a current police clearance obtained within the last 3 months.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving history.
- Up to date vaccinations including Hepatitis B, influenza, pertussis (whooping cough), MMR and COVID.
