THE COMPANY

This position offers a chance to work within our dynamic and diverse digital team.

ROLE 

Vuly HQ is located at Wakerley (South Brisbane), however, this position provides remote work flexibility from anywhere in Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack PHP/Vue Developer to join our  highly collaborative digital team and continue the development of our internal PHP systems, third-party API integrations, and international website. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Principal Software Engineer and Digital Leader, the role entails:

  • Developing and maintaining our large fully custom PHP codebase.
  • Front end (HTML/CSS/JS) and back end (PHP/MYSQL) development of our public website.
  • Programming of internal reports and systems.
  • Integration with third party APIs including Zendesk, Facebook, Amazon, Google, AfterPay, ZipPay, Stripe, PayPal, courier company APIs, and many others.

    SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Extensive experience with MVC frameworks and OOP
  • Extensive experience in procedural PHP
  • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Extensive experience with responsive web design
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with API integrations
  • Experience with MySQL databases/queries
  • Experience with cross device and browser compatibility testing
  • Experience with page speed optimisation
  • A solid understanding of common front-end practices and design
  • Able to work quickly and use your time efficiently
  • Able to adjust priorities to achieve real-world outcomes for the business
  • Able to write readable, self-documenting code, welcoming code reviews
  • Strong problem-solving abilities e.g., how to integrate with new applications, automate workflows, or speed up processes
  • Able to work in a small team where you have plenty of autonomy and take ownership of your results

BONUS SKILLS (HIGHLY DESIREABLE)

  • Experience with any of these specific APIs: Zendesk Support, Facebook/Google OAuth, Google Charts, Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google Drive, AfterPay, ZipPay, Stripe, PayPal, Courier company APIs, etc.
  • Experience with the Materialize CSS framework, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, Nuxt 3, and Test Driven Development.
  • Experience with web hosting, IT networking, and general IT.
  • Experience with data security
  • Understanding of SEO concerns and practices
