The Requirements

• Specialist registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.

• Recognised qualification and training in General Medicine
• Experience in At Home services, including but not limited to Hospital in the Home service, is desirable.

About the roleThe BHS at Home programme is supported by a total of 4 physicians who supervise the management of complex medical, surgical and obstetric patients who are suitable for home-based care. Additional BHS at Home streams including paediatrics and aged care is respectively supported by paediatricians and geriatricians. We aim to admit more than 10% of inpatients to At Home services in order to improve patient experience and outcomes.About youYou will be suitably experienced in the field of General Medicine and be seeking a rewarding career through your contribution to a large regional tertiary referral hub and spoke health service with a growing role in teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars.As a consultant physician you will be expected to work within your scope of practice and will be subject to Grampians Health Credentialing Committee’s jurisdiction whist working with us. You will report to the Clinical Director, Medical Services, GH for Professional ones.The General Medicine DepartmentGrampians Health provides an expanding general and subspecialty internal medicine service across the region. We have seven general medical units that manage at least 120 patients per day. These units are supported by local and metropolitan Basic Physician and Advanced trainees in General Medicine. Assisting the general medical units are rheumatology, endocrinology, neurology, gastroenterology, and obstetric medicine services. In addition, we have subspecialties that provide weekday and on-call services including cardiology, oncology, haematology, nephrology, infectious diseases and respiratory. These units are supported by Basic Physician trainees and Advanced subspecialty trainees.There is a well-developed sub-acute range of services with growing geriatrics, rehabilitation and palliative care units that provide support to the acute campuses and the Grampians Health community.About Grampians HealthGrampians Health has over 330 acute beds across its campuses and serves a population in excess of 250,000 Victorians.New short stay unit and modern, emergency, critical care, ambulatory, aged care and rehabilitation facilities uniquely integrate in-patient, ambulatory, community and home-based services.
