We are a Uniting Church day and boarding school for girls, Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 located in Como, close to the river and Perth CBD .
We have an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant music program within Penrhos College.
The College’s Music program offers a multitude of possibilities to both students and staff that is set within a dynamic and creative educational context. The Piano Accompanist aspect of the position is responsible for assisting the Director of Music in the coordination and implementation of the rehearsal process for students, choirs and instrumental ensembles and to accompany performances at school events.
Due to the nature of this position there is a requirement to rehearse and perform outside of school hours.
There may also be the opportunity for peripatetic or classroom work in addition to this position if desirable to both the applicant and the College.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover leave.
The successful applicants will have:
A Bachelor of Music, Music Education or equivalent experience (Highly desirable)
Professional level of piano performance skills
Professional level specific to accompaniment of solo and ensemble vocal and instrumental rehearsals and performances across Junior and Secondary school
Ability to perform in a variety of musical styles
Excellent sight-reading abilities
A Current Working with Children card (WWC) and National Police Clearance
A Commitment to the College’s Core Shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy
A Commitment to the safeguarding of students and providing a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.
