Saltwater P-9 College is a co-educational Prep to Year 9 school that opened its doors to the first intake of Prep-Six students in 2019. The Year 9 cohort commenced their journey at Saltwater College in 2024.

Saltwater P-9 College is positioned within a thriving bayside community, located only 20kms from the city. Situated in tranquil Point Cook, it¿s surrounded by the Point Cook Coastal Park, a protected marine sanctuary and the Cheetham Wetlands.

Saltwater P-9 College aims to build a school culture that demonstrates a strong belief in and a commitment to providing a rich and rigorous curriculum within a safe, secure and enriched learning environment for our children.  We will have a clear focus on catering for the diverse range of students at their point of need. Selection Criteria
  • Can you describe your approach to teaching instrumental music and how you tailor your lessons to meet the individual needs of students?
  • How do you build a positive and supportive learning environment in your music lessons, and how do you communicate with parents or guardians regarding a student's progress?
  • What is your approach to assessing a student's progress and proficiency, and how do you provide constructive feedback to help students improve?
  • Can you share an example of how you adapt your teaching style to cater to different learning preferences and abilities, and provide an instance where you used innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience?
  • What motivates you to teach instrumental/vocal music, and how do you stay updated on current trends and methodologies in music education?
Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate instrumental teacher (Voice and piano) to join our team and assist in further developing our Instrumental program for 2024.

At Saltwater P-9 we recognise that learning to play a musical instrument is a valuable activity in any student¿s development.  As such, we are committed to providing a high-quality instrumental music education, accessible to all families.  As an Instrumental Music Teacher, you will be integral to building our music program and increase the musical opportunities we can offer students.

Responsibilities

possess relevant music qualifications or background experience in music performance and/or tuition. 

have demonstrated ensemble performance (Vocal groups, Rock and Pop bands) and / or experience teaching from beginner level to VCE (Grade 8 AMEB equivalency).

be enthusiastic and passionate about your craft and inspire and motivate students to achieve their potential.

be committed to child safety.

effectively engage and work as part of a team with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes.
