Manage relationships with Retail Brokers and provide support in negotiating, influencing, and finding capacity.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director of this wholesale business you will be responsible for managing relationships with internal and external Insurance Brokers within Short-Tail products and finding solutions for their larger clients.

You will source capacity and provide tailored solutions through your own growing market network and brand, whilst seeking alternative markets where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and develop relationships with key brokers and insurers across the Australian market.
• Seek innovative solutions regionally and overseas in order to cover capacity requirements for larger or more complex placements.
• Negotiate and tailor terms on conditions of insurance policies with Underwriters and Insurer teams.
• Provide advice and support to broking teams especially within the Property and Strata sectors.
• Day to day ad hoc duties to support getting policies placed.

Candidate Profile

An experienced Senior Account Executive or Junior Placement specialist would suit this role, or a strong technical underwriter with market presence.

• Minimum 5 years in a Commercial Broking or Underwriting capacity.
• Some experience placing business either binding as an Underwriter or securing coverage as a Broker.
• Some understanding of Property, Strata, Commercial or other short-tail products.
• Excellent presentation and face to face mannerisms.
• High attention to detail.
