A unique opportunity has arisen within the company, and we are currently seeking applications for the following position.
The Service Department is responsible for the delivery of technical and product support assistance and advice to both internal and external customers. The Plant Mechanic is responsible for the timely repair, servicing, and diagnostics of our customer base in a field environment. The successful candidate will have excellent time management skills, post trade experience in the field on comparable equipment and commercial awareness not only from a service perspective but a branch perspective as well.
The productive alliance of this position with the sales and parts departments as well as outside contractors and the customer is essential to the success of our business service commitments.
About the Role:
The task of our Plant Mechanic is to work effectively within the business environment and complete tasks as directed by the After Sales Manager. This role requires efficient work practices, attention to detail and a proactive approach to complete their duties for Porter Equipment Australia within the Service Department.
The developmental nature of this position is essential to the success of Porter Equipment Australia business plans and is necessary to ensure that best practice is always pursued for PEA and our customers.

You will be required to possess the following:
- Knowledge of occupational health & safety and site requirements including inductions.
- Previous applicable Field Service experience preferrable.
- Trade Qualifications that apply to this role and Equipment.
- Excellent understanding of commercial outcomes within a branch and OEM environment.
- Sound communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to enable the effective provision of advice, information and assistance to Management, customers, staff and contractors.
- Well-developed computer skills.
- Fault diagnostic skills and diagnostic software experience.
- Current and valid medium ridged driver's license.
