The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our PPAD (Plate Processing & Despatch) team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Plate Processing and Despatch Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, the PPAD team delivers superior plate products and innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
As an integral part of our steel making operations, the PPAD business is the final step in the manufacturing of our superior steel plate products at our Port Kembla site. Plate is received from the Plate Rolling Mill and is cut, finished and Despatched, to our export and domestic customers.
You’ll work collaboratively with the team as the key point of contact for the shift operations team. Coordinating the despatch operation, you’ll liase directly with Logistics and Customer Service, ensuring the delivery of exceptional performance, whilst championing a safety-first culture.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll work a 12-hour rotating day and night shift with opportunities for overtime. When you join our team, we also offer access to our Employee Assistance provider and other health and well-being programs.
What Will You Do?
You will demonstrate your leadership skills, whilst building effective relationships, both internally and externally. You will also:
- successfully contribute to a safe working environment
- work with the Despatch Team to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and mitigate risk and strive for business improvements
- leading and supporting the shift operations to achieve business targets and striving for on time delivery for our customers
- leading, providing guidance and enhancing our manufacturing capability
- coaching, mentoring and developing the team to enhance capabilities
