AddressWe are currently working with one of Australia's most iconic brands who are seeking for a Platform Site Reliability Engineering Technical Lead to join their Customer Technology division. They currently have a rare opportunity to bring onboard someone on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be critical to leading the roll out of our SRE & Observability strategy and will be directly involved in the design, build and rollout of new SRE & Observability capabilities leveraging cloud-based services to help support our transition to a self-service platform model.
About the role
You would be involved in:
- Lead the implementation of our Platform SRE Strategy on Monitoring and alerting, Infrastructure as Code, Developer Experience, and Modern Application Development using microservices and micro-frontends capabilities.
- Develop and maintain a world-class Developer Experience that enables our teams to work more efficiently and effectively.
- Development of proof of concepts and future blocker mitigation.
- Continuously improve our Agile and Cyber Cloud Security Practices and contribute to the development of our CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Akamai, SonarQube, and Snyk, to codify quality, security, and operational risk controls and embed them into our systems.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the rest of the SRE & Observability team in the form of peer reviews/ coaching/mentoring/education e.g., on the trade-offs that exist between conflicting design choices while ensuring that you always uphold engineering best practices.
To be successful for the role, you would ideally:
- Demonstrated experience software or systems engineering with the ability to work with large, complex codebases and write code at a quality level suitable for consumption by other teams as libraries and APIs.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, and sound knowledge of creating codified CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, AzureDevOps or AWS CodePipeline,
- Experience with Akamai, SonarQube, and Snyk is highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code, Containers, Terraform, Secrets Management using Vault or similar, and modern application development using microservices and micro frontends.
- Expertise in dynamic configuration management and other edge technologies.
