They are renowned for their work in the FMCG space however are growing their business and venturing into other industry sectors. They are currently looking to augment their existing team with a talented developer with a number of PL/SQL Developers who know BASH scripting and Python.
The role is focused on the evolution of their core big data platform – which runs on Hive and Hadoop. They integrate data from a wide array of source systems using both SQL and Oracle. Traditionally they’ve largely focused on C#/SQL professionals, but now have a need to increase their team and add Oracle specialists so are looking for strong PL/SQL skills but also solid Bash (or any shell scripting) and Python skills. Exposure to Hive and Hadoop would be ideal, but PL/SQL, Bash and python that’s key to the success of this role.
You will need to have strong PL/SQL skills working in a UNIX/Linux environment and commercial Python experience. Shell or KSH scripting in place of Bash will be considered but Oracle and Python are both must haves.
