Position Type: Volunteer Internship/ PLT Placement with allowance
Overview: Fair Workplace Solutions is a boutique law firm specialising in employment law. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our legal team as a Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement. This role is ideal for law students or recent graduates who are looking to complete their PLT requirements and specialise in employment law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with legal research and drafting legal documents
- Attend Fair Work Commission/Tribunal hearings and client meetings
- Prepare briefs and case files
- Provide administrative support to solicitors and barristers
- Assist in the preparation of legal submissions and correspondence
- Manage case files and ensure all documentation is up to date
Requirements:
- HR degree preferable but not essential as long as the candidate has an interest in employment law
- Currently enrolled in College of Law or have recently completed a law degree
- Eligible to undertake PLT requirements
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
- Secondary language skills are desirable but not essential
- Previous customer service skills preferable
- Open to full time or part time basis
