Salary: $101,573 - $110,953 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Podiatrist is responsible for the provision of clinical and preventative podiatry services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients residing in Cape York. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team you will assess, plan and deliver podiatry services that meet the needs of clients with complex needs.
This is a FIFO position from Cairns. A typical week involves flying or driving out from Cairns on Monday morning and returning to Cairns on Friday. You will be provided with accommodation and a travel allowance as a FIFO employee.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Podiatry and current registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Podiatrist
- Experience delivering comprehensive and evidence-based podiatry services to clients with complex needs, including assessment, treatment and care planning
- Experience in planning, implementing, reviewing and evaluating podiatry programs to ensure high quality care
- Experience delivering and/or supporting podiatry education and health promotion programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
