Community policing in the ACT offers diverse operational opportunities across all facets of law enforcement, including General Duties. Limited jobs can match the diversity and excitement of community police work. Moreover, community Police Officers in the ACT have opportunities not ordinarily available to other Australian jurisdictional police forces, surging into National operations to support our External Territories, as required to enforce Commonwealth criminal law and maintain the peace in the Australian Capital Territory.
Crime is clever, and we need to be more innovative. To be one of the most adaptive, effective and advanced policing agencies in the world, the AFP is seeking lateral police candidates to undertake the Federal Police Lateral Program (FPLP1/24) who will deploy to ACT Policing in a General Duties role for 6 months before being placed in one of the following roles:
General Duties Policing
Road Policing and Emergency Management
Family Violence and Vulnerable People
Criminal Investigations
Intelligence
Communications
Judicial Operations
