About the role:
This role delivers a diverse range of functions to support quality decision making. Customer centricity is key, as this position is the conduit between the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), the organisation and key internal suppliers. The role understands Council’s strategy and pain points and supports branches to develop proposals and shape business cases through the portfolio planning processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Apply and share subject matter expertise required to enable delivery of EPMO outcomes.
- Develop and implement frameworks, systems, processes, and tools to enhance the delivery of EPMO outcomes.
- Identifying, exploring and seizing opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate portfolio planning and led business case development for the EPMO and set the project portfolio for success.
- Ensure the provision of effective, consistent and timely analysis and reporting to help inform strategic decisions and provide transparency of progress and outcomes to key stakeholders and project governance bodies.
- Providing project planning, maintenance, monitoring and reporting.
- Facilitate problem identification, analysis and requirements gathering including cost benefit / value, impact and sustainability analysis.
- Build collaborative and respectful relationships with key project partners and stakeholders
- Develop, implement and manage a range of appropriate communication channels to ensure regular and consistent messaging is delivered to stakeholders.
- Business Analysis
- Extensive experience supporting business case development in project portfolios.
- Knowledge of the breadth and complexity of project / program / portfolio management (P3M).
- Demonstrated experience in a portfolio office or similar function communicating, liaising and building trusted relationships with staff across organisational boundaries.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills to write and / or interpret business cases, reports and other documentation
- Ability to identify and facilitate cooperation amongst stakeholders where conflicting agendas or motivators may exist.
- Business Case
- Membership with relevant industry association or peak body (e.g. Project Management Institute, Change Management Institute, Asset Management Council, CPA).
- Credentials and / or certification in relevant fields such as project and portfolio management, change management, agile methodology (e.g. PROSCI, Agile fundamentals, Management of Portfolios, Prince2, Managing Successful Programs).
