About the role
Due to our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity to welcome a talented Power BI Developer to assist with the roll out and implementation of PowerBI who will take ownership of providing training and support to employees, generating data modelling, advanced analytics, develop tools to make business information readily accessible both internally and externally.
You will be able to demonstrate your experience in working in a commercial operating environment with end users, operational managers and system data owners to produce effective and intuitive dashboards, reports, tools and data sets for the business.
You will also have the ability to articulate the key operational drivers and business processes that relate to the delivery of technical service and maintenance across mechanical (HVAC), fire and electrical assets.
The tasks will include but not limited to:
- PowerBI development and administration
- Developing visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop and ability to render reports for mobile applications.
- Connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
- Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
- Able to implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.
- Proficient in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop.
- Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set.
- Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
- Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards.
- Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
- Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources.
- Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
- Showcase Power BI functionalities by creating proof of concepts to add value to our business both at the report level and at the platform level
- Mentor Power Users and other business users in development and deployment of Data Models, Reports and Dashboards
- Work with IT team and Power Users closely to perform data extraction and data transformation processes to create the data set required for the dashboard
- Implement feedback from business users and create final version of the dashboard
- Perform data transformations (if required) to make data in format which can be easily scaled across different geographies / categories
- Modify the processes (if required) to ensure they are set-up correctly to enable refresh of dashboard at intervals in the production environment
What you will need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (e.g. engineering).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with multitasking skills
