Pre-Apprentice Program for Women

Transgrid is excited to offer our annual Pre-Apprentice Program for Women, providing you with hands-on training and credit towards a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
The program is the perfect opportunity to discover if the industry is right for you before committing to a full apprenticeship.

- UEECD0046 - Solve problems in single path circuits

Training program dates:
Take the first step towards your exciting new career! Join us for practical training and work experience at our Transgrid depot in Orange. Our skilled training and technicians will guide you through a substation tour, power station tour, hand skills and wiring training, and much more.
You will be assigned to a group upon commencement and expected to complete further online self-paced learning at home. With on-site learning spanning across 5-weeks, this is your chance to step outside of your comfort zone and learn something new.
- Week 1 - Group 1 & 2, 1 day on site learning
- Week 2 - Group 1 & 2, 5 days on site learning
- Week 3 - Group 1, 5 days on site learning
- Week 4 - Group 2, 5 days on site learning
- Week 5 - Group 1 & 2, 1 day on site learning and graduation dinner
To be considered, you must have:
- Eagerness to join and complete the Pre-Apprentice Program
- Interest in finding out more about the electrical industry
- A current Drivers Licence or transport arrangements to attend our Orange Depot for in-person study components
- Completed minimum Year 9 school studies
- Ability to commit to the attendance requirements in the training program dates listed above
