Pre-Training and Agistment Manager

Luskin Park is seeking a Pre-Training and Agistment Manager. Based at Luskintyre (just 50 mins from Newcastle) the successful applicant will be responsible for the care of all thoroughbred race horses, including pre-trainers and spellers. Your duties will include:

• Overseeing daily care and supervision of pre-trainers and spellers
• Education and conditioning of young horses
• Organising staff and staff rosters
• Re-educating young horses with behavioural problems
• Potential to go to local race meetings

To be successful, you must have:

• Proven management experience
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds
• Previous experience with training and conditioning of young horses
• Implement training regimes and feeding plans
• Computer literacy – training can be provided for our software system
• Ability to recruit, manage and train staff
• Great communication skills
• Previous experience with towing desirable but not essential
