We are a not for profit Community Based Preschool located in Narwee registered for 45 children each day. We have provided high quality early childhood education for children in the local area for more than 60 years.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer with skills in financial accounting and payroll to join our team. We offer excellent working conditions and above award wage.
You are employed to support the Director and ensure that all aspects of administration and financial/funding at Narwee Preschool are maintained in an efficient and effective manner.
The tasks will continue throughout non-term time based on the needs of the Preschool.

This is a diverse role that requires excellent administrative skills and the ability to communicate and provide support to families, staff and management. You will be highly organised, reliable, and be able to prioritise tasks within a busy Preschool environment.
In collaboration with the Director and Management Committee, you will be responsible for the administration and finance/ funding of the of the Preschool, following systems, policies and guidelines of the NSW Department of Education funding model.
The position is part-time 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.00am-3.00pm. This role is for a fixed term of 12 months with the view to becoming permanent.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in small business management, administration, financial accounting, including payroll.
- Excellent computer literacy skills and demonstrated experience using a variety of computer software programs such as, but not limited to, XERO, Microsoft Office, Hubworks.
- Demonstrated skills in providing excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience working as a member of a team, as well as autonomously and skills in promoting a professional, positive and supportive work culture.
- Discretion, honesty, reliability and confidentiality.
- A calm demeanour and ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current first aid certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis approved by ACECQA.
- Commitment to understanding and implementing Child Protection practices.
- Unlimited work rights to enable you to work in Australia.
Desirable
- Administration, payroll and financial/ funding experience in a not-for-profit early childhood service or organisation.
- Experience with Xero accounting software.
- Knowledge of NSW Community Preschool funding.
A Criminal History Record Check will be required of successful applicant.
