Concordia College offers continuous education from ELC to Year 12. We have three co-educational campuses located in the eastern suburbs of Highgate and the Adelaide foothills of Blackwood.
The College is seeking applications for the following position:
Primary Classroom teacher - St Peters Campus Blackwood
Continuing, full-time 1.0 FTE – Commencing asap in Term 2 2024
This position requires the capacity to teach within the framework of the IB Primary Years Programme and the Australian Curriculum. Working collaboratively with year level teams and single subject teachers will be central to the role in the Primary School.
The teacher’s priority is to ensure that learning and teaching encourages student engagement and is carried out within the context of the Mission, Vision and Values of Concordia, including the Christian foundations of the College. Demonstrated ability to collaboratively design and implement authentic concept driven units of work which encourage inquiry are essential to this position. The teacher will encourage a positive and interesting learning environment which supports students to flourish and extend themselves.
The successful applicant will be employed to work as a Classroom teacher taking responsibility for the provision of the Year 5 / 6 learning program, whilst working collaboratively with other staff. Teachers need to demonstrate their understanding and ability to ensure that student’s learning needs are catered for within the classroom. An understanding of Restorative Practice would be an advantage.
Knowledge and skills in primary school level coding and robotics, including apps or hardware such as Scratch, Makers Empire, 3D Printing, Spheros and/or BeeBots would be beneficial.
