We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Primary teacher to work within our Ignite program. Our Ignite program is our Extension Program working with our high performing Stage 3 students in our extension classes.

Suitably qualified professionals who have enthusiasm for and/or experience in working with students identified as gifted and talented and/or high achieving students are encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant should possess a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, be willing to immerse themselves into College life and demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with young children.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in working with students with high academic ability across the primary years, but more specifically, Years 5 and 6 students.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications, including Gifted and Talented Education qualifications and/or a willingness to undertake additional post graduate training (Staff Study Assistance may be available for the right applicant).
• An understanding of how to differentiate the curriculum through content, process and product so that learning tasks provide opportunities of increasing complexity and level of independence for learners within the class
• Provide rich, stimulating, experiences that promote, encourage, and foster a sense of curiosity, learning and independence, including a demonstrated capacity to think outside the box by incorporating play-based approaches and outdoor learning opportunities for students.
• An understanding of “Twice Exceptional” learners and how to best meet their learning needs
• An enthusiastic mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• An understanding of STEM based curriculums for Primary Schools and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom practice.
• An exceptional understanding of child development and be focused on utilising goal setting and feedback processes with students.
• A strong commitment to their own faith, along with the ability to assent to the College's Statement of Faith.
• Have recognised accreditation / registration with NESA and evidence of these criteria should be included in your application.
• A current WWCC approval.
