We are currently seeking a full - time teacher for a junior primary position to commence in Term 3, 2024. This is a Fixed Term Full Time Position.
Salary: $80 000 - $90 000 (AUD) Based on experience in accordance with the teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA)
Our Lady of the Southern Cross (OLSC) is an integral part of the faith community of St Andrew’s Werribee and is one of six parish Primary Schools. OLSC is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS) ABN 18643442371. MACS is the employer of employees at Our Ladyof the Southern Cross School.
Candidates must have an ability to plan, work and learn in a team environment. The successful applicant must support the philosophy of the school and commit to working as part of a collaborative team with a focus on contemporary practices in a flexible environment. They will be able to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs by implementing differentiated learning experiences that are creative and engaging, use a variety of strategies, encourage the use of technology and challenge the students to be the best they can be. They must also have excellent classroom management skills and have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.

Job Description
The roles and responsibilities of a teacher include, though not limited to:
- Apply curriculum knowledge and teaching methods which facilitate successful learning
- Respond to learners needs
- Develop and maintain working relationships
- Provide a balanced and challenging program relevant to the needs of the students
- Assess, record and report learner achievement
- Establish structures and processes to achieve a productive learning environment
- Employ behaviour management strategies in line with school policies which ensure a safe, orderly and successful learning environment
- Ensure that confidential information is handled appropriately
- Carry out other non‐instructional responsibilities which are part of the teachers role – e.g. support and adhere to school and MACS policies and relevant government legislation; carry out routine tasks including record keeping, surveys, distribution of materials; meet yard duty requirements; exercise a duty of care; and improve skills, knowledge and performance through professional development and performance appraisals
Skills / Experience required:
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
- An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and
colleagues. - An ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters for
the needs of all students. - An eagerness to learn.
- An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support
student learning.
Special Requirements:
- Our Ladyof the Southern Cross School promotes the safety, well-being and inclusion of all children; therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children
- The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching registration
- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred
