We are looking for a Principal Advisor, Commercial to provide commercial support for Rio Tinto ‘s investment in Mongolia and other APAC opportunties.
This is a great opportunity for a senior stakeholder engagement specialist to work to develop a deep understanding of strategic issues to provide analysis to the CopperGrowth and Development Senior Leadership Team. You will be supporting the generation and implementation of relevant strategy and provide support for the Strategy Workstream Leads on the development and implementationof detailed plans and analysis.

Reporting to the GM Strategy, Commercial & Partnerships, you will also:
  • Support Rio Tinto’s copper investment’s in the APAC region, including Oyu Tolgoi and support strategic initiatives such as the Khanbogd Catalyst Fund
  • Support other APAC business development opportunities as they arise
  • Provide support and lead tactical, strategic or commercial projects as requested
  • Prepare supporting materials including papers and presentations for Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Act as the Secretary for various committees from driving the agenda, meeting preparation to the minutes and follow upon action items from meetings
  • Solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify solutions
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will:
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Economics [or technical degree such as geology, engineering etc with MBA] with deep exposure to business analysis, business development or strategy / business consulting.
  • Further MBA or similar qualification highly desirable for the diversity of role.
  • 5 years+ business analysis, business development or consulting experience with large natural resource companies
  • Excellent senior stakeholder engagement & communication skillset
  • Strong analytical, written and presentation skills
  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • Understanding of capital structures desirable
