Position Purpose

The Principle Advisory Director role is responsible for delivering Info-Tech's research projects and advisory services to our Members (clients), primarily in the domains of Artificial Intelligence and IT Strategy, Governance, Organizational Design/Operating Model.

The successful candidate will provide research- and experience-based insight and guidance, helping IT leaders drive measurable results in their organizations. The incumbent will maintain an active pulse on the needs of Members, located in the Asia-Pacific region. They will also need to stay current on industry developments to enable the delivery of exceptional service via client calls and workshops in collaboration with others across our Research Division and organization, globally.

What you will do, includes, but not limited to:

Advisory Calls with Clients

  • Leading calls with Members to provide an overview of Info-Tech's published research.
  • Listening to the information provided by Members and recommending ways they can use the research to work through a challenge or project, while ensuring their key initiative plans fulfill their strategic mandates.
  • Assist to scope member concerns and direct them to relevant research as well as identify gaps in research products.

Facilitate Workshops

  • Properly scope out the workshop effort with clients over the phone a few weeks ahead of online or on-site workshop delivery.
  • Assist in developing of Statements of Work (SOW) to formalize the objective, agenda, and deliverables of workshops.
  • Using Info-Tech's published research to facilitate a series of activities with Members and their teams.
  • Throughout the workshop, collecting activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement.
  • Identify further areas of advisory assistance required by members after the workshop.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support

  • Contributing to research producing teams by identifying technology trends and proposing research topics.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Executive Services, Sales, Workshop Delivery, Consulting, Public Relations & Marketing teams as needed.
  • Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.

To be successful, you will need:

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial.

  • Certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or other related IT or management consulting disciplines considered valuable.

  • Practical experience (10+ years) in some combination of business advisory and/or consulting within IT; and executing major organizational change or transformation projects is necessary.

  • A successful candidate will have working knowledge within a mixture of:

  • Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence

  • IT Strategy

  • IT Governance, Risk, Compliance

  • IT Organizational Design/Operating Model

  • Acquired experience and knowledge of the solution landscape for some promising emerging technologies in the AI space favoured.

  • Some Leadership experience within operational IT domains is an asset.

  • Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements is important.

  • History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management; and strong working relationships with C-suite is necessary.

  • Travel Requirement: Must be flexible and have ability to travel (25%) to deliver workshops onsite at client locations both within and outside of the Asia Pacific region, when it is safe to do so.

  • Visa Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain appropriate visa for work with global clients.

  • Work Hours Requirements: Must be available for after-hours work periodically to collaborate with Global colleagues.
