We are looking for a Principal – Approvals Strategy and Systems to join our team within State Agreement and Approvals. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced project manager and approvals subject matter expert with a collaborative stakeholder engagement approach to lead critical land access enabling work streams.

Reporting to the Manager Approvals Strategy and working as part of the dynamic and exciting State Agreement and Approvals team, you will be:

  • Leading business critical improvement projects that enable and improve access to land
  • Leading key strategic priorities, including improving our environmental knowledge systems and processes
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the business by advising on potential approvals pathways, risk identification and management, all with a mindset of finding better ways
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills embracing inclusive leadership behaviours
  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Data or Project Management, or similar
  • Significant experience within Environmental Approvals or related field is desirable
  • Ability to positively influence, engage and facilitate with large internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Ability to ask the right questions, be a critical thinker and be able to deliver a creative outlook combined with practicality and strategic focus
  • Risk management, commercial awareness, business analysis & reporting, financial, and operational/business knowledge
