Principal Capability and Accreditation Officer , Energy and Public Works

The Capability Team within Procurement Solutions is a small team that develops and delivers contemporary procurement and contract management capability initiatives for use across the Queensland Government.
In this role, you will assist the manager in the development of strategies to professionalise the procurement discipline across the public service.
You will be responsible for undertaking research on procurement learning and development, capability trends and issues as well as delivering programs of work. This includes engaging with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to deliver the Procurement Certification Program, manage suppliers, and deliver high profile events.

Key responsibilities

• Consulting and partnering with stakeholders, both across the whole-of-government and externally, to develop and successfully implement strategies, plans, programs and other initiatives that develop the skills of government officers in procurement and contract management.
• Management of a supply arrangement that provides procurement certification, along with undertaking approach to market activities related to the arrangement.
• Researching current capability trends and planning for needs based on identified skills gaps using best practice models.
• Maintaining active liaison with key stakeholders, including budget sector agencies, government owned corporations, statutory bodies, inter-jurisdictional counterparts, professional bodies, academic institutions and other thought leaders.
• Design, develop and deliver whole-of-government events to procurement and contract management practitioners.
• Identifying and partnering with third party providers to produce learning and development programs, including eLearning courses.
• Prepare and present high level communications relating to strategic, whole-of-government planning aimed at senior and executive staff.
