Key responsibilities:
As a Principal Contract Manager, overseeing key result areas and
responsibilities essential for strategic success. Your role will
involve providing expert advice on best practices in contract
management, developing and implementing strategies in collaboration
with key stakeholders, and reviewing documentation and proposed
variations.
You will assess risks, establish mitigation strategies, and
monitor risks, particularly for complex contracts across multiple
sites. Managing contract and provider/supplier performance,
resolving issues, and ensuring delivery performance are vital
aspects of this role.
Additionally, you will research and analyse information on
strategic goods and services, support stakeholders, create
strategies for supplier/provider development, and maintain business
systems that support procurement and contract management processes.
The position also entails quality assurance, continuous
improvement, and adherence to legislative requirements.
Establishing and managing relationships with key suppliers, SA
Health staff, and other government agencies are integral to
success. Furthermore, you will lead and manage a team, prioritising
workloads, making decisions based on risk assessment and business
needs, fostering staff development, and maintaining ethical

About You:
The ideal candidate for the Principal Contract Manager role
should excel in building credibility with senior stakeholders,
designing effective stakeholder communication, and leading teams
while ensuring probity requirements are met. They must bring
experience in interpreting terms and conditions, contract
management, and implementing organisational change.
A strong grasp of contemporary contract management principles,
Australian Contract Law, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint is essential. Desirable qualifications include a
tertiary degree in relevant fields and the ability to envision
alternative solutions, along with experience in engaging diverse
stakeholders and advocating for variety reduction.
Key Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following
criteria:
Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
A tertiary degree in procurement, commerce, finance,
economics, business management, law, or equivalent and relevant
previous experience in a similar position.
Willingness to undergo a police check and provide
immunisation records (due to the healthcare environment).
A passion for Procurement and supply chain management and
a strong desire to contribute to
healthcare improvement

Criminal History Screening Requirement
A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment
involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for
this position (general employment)
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category
C (minimal patient contact)
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable
disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination
policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
It is mandatory that no person, whether or not already
working in SA Health, may be appointed to a position in SA
Health unless they have provided the a satisfactory current
Criminal and Relevant History Screening, as required by the SA
Health Criminal and Relevant History Screening Policy
Directive.
For appointment in a Prescribed Position under the Child
Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act (2016), a current Working with
Children Check (WWCC) is required from the Department for Human
Services Screening Unit. For other positions, a satisfactory
National Police Certificate (NPC) assessment is required.
For ‘Prescribed Positions’ under the Child
Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act (2016), the individual’s
WWCCs must be renewed every 5 years from the date of issue; and
for ‘Approved Aged Care Provider Positions’ every 3
years from date of issue as required by the Accountability
Principles 2014 issued pursuant to the Aged Care Act 1997
(Cth).
Appointment is subject to immunisation risk category
requirements. There may be ongoing immunisation requirements
that must be met.
Depending on work requirements the incumbent may be
transferred to other locations across SA Health to perform work
appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities either
on a permanent or temporary basis subject to relevant
provisions of the Public Sector Act 2009 for Public Sector
employees or the SA Health (Health Care Act) Human Resources
Manual for Health Care Act employees.
The incumbent may be required to participate in Counter
Disaster activities including attendance, as required, at
training programs and exercises to develop the necessary skills
required to participate in responses in the event of a disaster
and/or major incident.
