About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experience Principal Digital Modelling Offer to develop, implement, manage and lead the Digital Modelling, Drawings and Documents Office. This role provides excellent customer-focused service and leads a team within the CAD/BIM/GIS Digital Modelling office. This role will identify ways to continuously improve team performance and build capability that is aligned to current and future needs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, manage and lead best practice CAD/BIM/GIS standards and capabilities for comprehensive Facilities Management at the University.
  • Manage and maintain the Autodesk CAD/BIM/GIS system (AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD Map 3D) environment including AutoLISP, VB.net and the CAD interface to ARCHIBUS®.
  • Develop, implement, and lead best practice document and records management associated with the built and natural environments at the University's campuses and sites as the subject matter expert.
  • Conduct training and provide support to Division staff using the CAD/BIM/GIS and records systems.
  • Coordinate and develop associated drawings and maps for UQ publications including car parking maps, bicycle plans, disability access maps, directory boards, annual reports etc.
  • Coordinate and develop the UQ CAD/BIM/GIS records from project As Built information, site measurement and detailed surveys for UQ campuses and sites including floor plans, Fire and Emergency Evacuation Drawings, building services, site plans, surveys, site services plans etc.
  • Participate in relevant committees and working groups to ensure P&F's Digital Modelling, drawings and document management are being championed.
  • Provide a high level of support to the P&F's Infrastructure team, Campus Operations, Project Delivery and Planning & Property Sections including the work in relation to the capital works program and Soft Landings Framework.
  • Provide effective leadership to the team including guidance, feedback, and coaching on complex operational, stakeholder or technical issues to help improve the capability and performance of the team.
  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

This is a Full-time,100% FTE, Continuing (Parament) position. At HEW Level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $94,754.55 - $103,180.96 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $110,862.82 - $120,721.72 per annum.

About You
  • Qualifications and training equivalent to a degree qualification in a relevant field with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and extensive experience in current and emerging best practice in CAD/BIM/GIS standards and its implementation as a subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful leadership with relevant experience managing a team and have the ability to motivate, develop and encourage performance in others, and to achieve set objectives in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk CAD/BIM/GIS software and bespoke software routines such as AutoLISP and VB/net.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain/present complex information, influence others, overcome barriers and deliver change.
  • Proven problem solver with a dynamic attitude combined with a relentless drive to achieve targets and deliver meaningful results.
  • Demonstrated experience provide exceptional customer-centric service.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with Facilities Management Computer System ARCHIBUS®.
  • Previous experience in GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS.
