Do you enjoy building relationships and ensuring technical alignment of engineering outcomes with client standards? Want the chance to continue, or to be more involved with client interactions, technical support during construction phase and preparation of tenders?

Working closely with Senior Project Managers, an Engineering Manager and team of Engineers / Designers, you’ll be providing engineering design advice across all stages of project design – Order of Magnitude, Pre-Feasibility Studies, Feasibility Studies, Detailed Design and Execution.

Your role will be key to defining quality and fit for purpose engineering solutions, and assisting our client assess the viability of projects.

We’ll also be asking you to:

  • Supervise and mentor graduates / emerging engineers.
  • Remain hands on with calculations, reviewing designs and approving HV submissions.
  • Assist with preparing tenders.
  • Ensure we meet client expectations and relevant technical standards.

This is your chance to make valued contributions to engineering / design outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects – some with a total investment cost of up to $250M. You’ll get exposure to a variety of design scenarios including rock breaker upgrades, winches, water pipelines and NPI infrastructure (MEM workshops, AN facilities, HV / LV wash areas, laboratories).

Thrive with us! We hope you'll bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering & full chartered membership status – Engineers Australia.
  • At least 12 years of experience in an engineering design setting, in the mining sector.
  • An in depth understanding of Electrical Engineering design.
  • A genuine desire to lead & mentor a team of engineers.
  • Willingness to work across multiple projects, with 1 – 2 month sprints.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate, influence & build productive relationships.
  • Current right to work in Australia.

It’s not essential, but if you’re familiar with Rio Tinto Iron Ore standards, it would be well-regarded.
