About the role
We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer / Team Leader (Water and Sewer Planning) to join the Water Resource Management Directorate of NSW PW. You will report to the Director and lead a team responsible for undertaking Strategic Planning for the Water and Sewer business of Local Water Utilities in Regional NSW.
About you
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:
- 15 years’ experience in the water industry with at least 5 years in a planning role
- High level understanding of how to achieve effective, evidence based strategic planning for a Water and Sewer business
- High level knowledge of the regulatory requirements associated with owning, operating and managing water infrastructure assets
- Sound knowledge of various specialist disciplines involved such as hydrology, hydraulics, and potable Water and municipal sewage treatment
- Understanding of the principles of asset and financial planning for running a sustainable Water and Sewer business
- High level leadership, business development, and Client and stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience in managing a team with a commercial focus delivering a positive net cost of service
- A valid NSW Driver’s license and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.
