Your new role
As Principal Insurance Pricing, you will report through to the Head of Insurance Product, on a 12-month contract. The primary function of the role is to ensure the Fund’s insurance products are competitive and sustainable and equitably meet the needs of members. You will also provide support for growth and retention via competitive and transparent corporate Insurance Pricing advice.
Key additional responsibilities will include:
- Make recommendations on insurance strategic, product, pricing and reserving matters via papers and presentations for agreement by the Member Proposition Committee and decision by Chief Member Officer and Chief Financial Officer regarding Insurance Pricing, Fund margins, management of the Insurance Reserve.
- Manage the Premium Adjustment Model (PAM) including the ongoing measurement and monitoring of claims experience.
- Manage insurance business planning, forecasting, budgeting and reserving, including margin projections, budgets and monitoring.
- Represent the Fund on insurance product matters with clients including tender pitches.
- Manage relationships with insurers in relation to product matters (administration and claims are the responsibility of the Operations team).
- Manage, develop, and mentor the actuarial team. Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the brand values, decision pillars and leadership principles.
- Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund's Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.
What you’ll need
- FIAA highly desired or equivalent financial / risk management qualifications.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business or related field such as Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, Economics.
- Ability to identify when data and analysis are materially incorrect and obtain solutions.
- Strong commercial skills in assessing projects and expenditure or negotiating service provider contracts.
- Demonstrated highly effective people management skills with the ability to effectively lead own and wider team.
- Substantial experience in influencing outcomes in a complex organisation.
