The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Principal Project Development Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Development, you will be working with current and potential customers and within the business unit to develop innovative power solutions to support business growth and performance. You will be leading the development of greenfield and brownfield projects to final investment decision, whilst supporting the business development team during ideation, pre-feasibility and feasibility study phases for prospective development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects and programs in various domains and contexts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Apply advanced knowledge and skills in engineering principles, methods, and tools to design, develop, implement, and evaluate engineering solutions that meet the needs and expectations of clients and stakeholders
  • Conduct research and development activities to advance engineering knowledge and practice, and to create new technologies or improve existing ones
  • Solve complex technical problems and deliver high-quality specialist solutions, using innovation, creativity, and change management skills
  • Oversee the development and design of innovative engineering solutions to provide a competitive advantage in winning new projects.

Your background

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Registered member of Engineers Australia or Chartered professional engineer
  • Extensive experience in utility scale power development, design, operations, maintenance or asset management
  • Experience in developing large scale renewable, storage, transmission and thermal power generation projects in Australia
  • Ability to build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the development of projects
