Position Overview:

As the Principal of Sunrise Christian School Whyalla, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school and ensuring the holistic development of our students. You will lead by example, demonstrating a deep commitment to Christ and active involvement in church ministry. The Principal works closely with other Sunrise Principals and the ELC Executive Director to plan strategically, promote collaboration, and share best practices across the School network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership in line with the school’s Christian ethos and values, while also collaborating with the other Sunrise Principals and ELC Executive Director to align strategies and initiatives across the Sunrise Christian School group.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including curriculum development, staff management, and student welfare, while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages cross-school and ELC partnerships.
• Foster a positive school culture that promotes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and personal development, leveraging the resources and expertise available within the network.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community, and actively participate in network-wide initiatives and events.
• Collaborate with the school board, leadership team, other Principals, and the ELC Executive Director to achieve strategic goals and objectives that benefit the entire network.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold the school’s policies and procedures, while also contributing to the development of network-wide policies and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A strong commitment to Christ and be able to demonstrate active church involvement
• Have a clear understanding of Christian Education principles and a desire to teach Christ in all areas
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably as a Principal or in a senior leadership role
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Sound knowledge of curriculum development, educational best practices, and student welfare initiatives
• Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and parents towards achieving excellence
• A strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and drive positive change
• Possess current registration as a teacher in South Australia or be eligible for registration
